To Subdue Evil

Post by hotsake »

To Subdue Evil AKA To Subdue the Evil AKA Duel of Karate,
Within the first 10 minutes there are two duels and a full on slaughter scene, there's blood galore and even a flying scene, in the first 10 minutes!!!!! Unfortunately I had to watch some kind of weird British Dub so any comments about acting will be strictly in regards to body language and facial expressions. The fight scenes are pretty standard pre Bruce Lee stuff, what I mean by this is that the fights are a little sloppy with weird angles and mediocre fight choreography. The movie is Taiwanese so there is more wire work present here although there are plenty of trampoline stunts here as well, in HK they focused on trampolines instead of wires unless it was for wuxia films during this time period. This movie is a fast paced bundle of cheezy old school fun that is thrilling, brutal and humorous fun. Lots of fights, super sped up action, spunky gambler girl, long lost twins, the invincible four, betrayal, revenge, a spaghetti western score, and even a dash of romance this movie has just about everything you could want.
