To answer your question, I'd argue that any sort of detective work is fair game. If you recognize a filming location, car model, or even specific fashion designer's outfit in the still frame of a shot, by all means, research away. After all, we're all online, and we all have access to the same tools and resources as everybody else playing this game.

But when you do that stuff, doesn't it feel like cheating? I mean anyone can google an answer - it's not really much of an achievement is it? (I'm not trying to accuse anyone of cheating, just saying that it seems a bit pointless).
