Without any confidence I keep thinking this is from a late 70s early 80s horror film but even while I'm sure that's wrong I can't go any further than that with my guess work at this point in time!

Center Stage.
I don't think that's actually right, but it's the first thing that came to mind and I have an unabashed soft spot for that movie that I haven't thought about in many years.
