Film magazines I can subscribe to!

Post by Suture Self »

Hey guys, I'm looking for a good print magazine to subscribe to that's all about movies and filmmaking and reviews and what not. Any recommendations? I'm trying to wean myself off of the wretched 24/7 news cycle that regurgitates the same old garbage every week and read more journalism/writing that has a less reactionary nature.

http://cinema-scope.com/ < Cinema Scope seems decent??
https://www.theasc.com/ac_magazine/Nove ... urrent.php < American Cinematographer seems decent?
http://www.bfi.org.uk/news-opinion/sigh ... scriptions < Sight & Sound seems decent??

Again, I'm completely out of the loop with regard to these kind of things. I mainly get my movie info from the internet: interviews with directors, wikipedia, wonderful websites like criticker, etc etc. Which is great! I love the internet, I just want something more, something I can sit down with...

Why magazines instead of books? After having browsed a couple sites they all seem to be largely reactionary.

Also, this might come in handy: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_film_periodicals

Sight & Sound and Film Comment were the two that I read the most. But, It's been a long time.
