Yeah I miss Shogun Rua and Pickpocket who left after the tightening of the house rules.
You'll be delighted to know that I am now back, although you misinterpreted why I left in the first place.

Alas, Pickpocket, at the time the #1 starred reviewer on here, was too good and pure for this website.

Pickpocket struck me as too abrasive to take seriously most of the time.

He was quite the earnest little film fan at first but you can see a distinct shift in the tone and content of his reviews after he started reading pick-up artist stuff

One of those films where when I finished it, I had to immediately watch it again. I connected with all of the characters, especially Joel, and give mad props to Jim Carrey in this film. Also, you have to be excited about Kaufman's future in this medium.

Definitely a guilty pleasure of mine. Ted is the blueprint of how to not be a man. Barney is great. The finale was so bad though. Nigga ends up with Robin? fuck outta here

Yeah, he def seemed to be the sort to chug down bottles of red pills. The fact he praises Dinesh D'Souza also made me chuckle.

glad pickpocket fucked off, i could smell those --dude who follows ben shapiro on twitter-- vibes years before i knew who shapiro was

remember when this site was linked to metacritic and had accounts for all the major critics? i know that feature was removed out of necessity but i'd love to see who my top (and bottom) critic TCIs would be nowadays.

A lot of men, as they grow up, realize there is something indelibly effeminate and limp-wristed about modern society compared to older ones. It's not purely their imagination, either; testosterone levels have dropped rapidly among American men, as countless medical studies have informed us. Thus, many go through a pick-up artist phase...myself included.

Eventually, I moved beyond that, and have mixed feelings, at best, about the PUA community today. However, it's a reasonable response when you realize things are very wrong, but don't know where to turn.

This is so funny. It's the equivalent of some provincial redneck from a few decades ago imagining that city folk who listen to rock n' roll must be devil worshippers.

As someone who talked to Pickpocket after he left Criticker, I can guarantee you that

1. He didn't have Twitter.
2. He didn't follow Ben Shapiro or remotely like him.
3. He was fairly apolitical.

If you don't believe me, read this post, written 1.5 years after his last review on Criticker;

https://genesisofman.wordpress.com/2017 ... -channels/

This is not what any standard right-winger, even a super normiecon that likes Ben Shapiro, writes.

Amusingly enough, Pickpocket's descriptor "feigned sense of intellectual superiority" is awfully relevant about a certain boring, milquetoast British dude who claims he can "smell vibes".

I can't really make heads or tails of this bizarre straw man argument, nor can I be bothered to, just thought I'd drop by to point out that rock 'n' roll was most assuredly invented by "provincial rednecks" ("a few decades ago"... like, the early oughts? The only moral uproar about music I can recall from that era concerned... The Dixie Chicks. What are you even on about?)
