Check your library's website, some are offering free streaming services

Post by 90sCoffee »

I guess this started within the past few years but a bunch of libraries across North America and I'd guess other countries too, are offering a free streaming service to members. Most of it is via a streaming service called Hoopla but there are other ones like InstaFlix.

Just thought it's worth looking into, Netflix has gotten increasingly lousier for movies so doesn't hurt to cancel for a few months and go through the other streaming services till Netflix gets turnover in content.

My library+hoopla has a vastly superior filn selection to Netflix for both new and old releases, that's for sure. Couple of caveats to this is that hoopla isn't HD and the number of titles you can borrow monthly is limited( my library used to be generous with 12; it's recently been reduced to 7). Hoopla itself is a bit sparse on the very newest, but my library is really good at getting in new blu rays.

Ours is unfortunately limited to 3 per month.
