Hi everyone,

My name is Isla. I'm 36 and I just joined this site yesterday. Films aside I like reading, writing poetry from time to time, listening to Radio 2 and (nature/landscape) photography.

I'm a big film fan, I have a large spreadsheet listing all the films I've seen, by date/source/rating/director/release year etc. so I'm a bit of a film geek, although I'm really not good at maths, so I admit I struggle to fully understand the algorithms side of things.

I'm going through my 'by rating' sheet, looking up every film I've watched by rating, currently its all the films I've rated as 10/10. As others have said, some of the films I'm rating it claims, under my rating, as being not good or terrible etc. I assume im not doing the ratings the correct way? is it a bad idea to go through my list of films by rating?

Hello! Another female here!

My name is Jessica, and I'm from Connecticut, U.S.A. I'm married, with two teenaged children and a ridiculously adorable two-year-old mini goldendoodle. I'm passionate about music, literature, genealogy, and movies, and I am a huge Sherlock Holmes aficionado. I run an online Holmes reading & discussion group. I'm a singer and a pianist.

1. My favorite film genre (and literature genre) is horror. I've been a huge horror buff for as long as I can remember. I'm not as interested in slasher films or what they call "torture porn", but I can't get enough of supernatural horror.
Of course, while horror is my fav, I also love comedy, drama, mystery, action, thriller, historical, musical, and suspense films. I think the only genre I have a really hard time with is tear-jerkers. Not a fan of sad.

Other than that, I'm really pretty boring, so I can't really think of anything else to add. I'm really enjoying what I've seen of this group so far!

New here :) Letterboxd is my main hub, but I like the look of the criticker recommendation system and want to take more advantage of it. The challenge of containing some of my longer reviews to a considerably smaller word count is an enjoyable challenge as well.

Quick question: if people interact with you (star a review, mark you as kumpel) do you get a notification? I can't see where this would be beyond messages.
