S. Craig Zahler's Novels

Post by JSchlansky »

S. Craig Zahler has quickly become one of my favorite new filmmakers with both Bone Tomahawk and Brawl in Cellblock 99 being some of my favorites from their respective years. Before his directorial debut he wrote a number of novels and I've been reading my way through them with the intention of reviewing each. Here's my review for Mean Business on North Ganson Street

Anyone here read any of his novels?

i haven't, but i was familiar with his metal band realmbuilder before he ever came onto my radar as a filmmaker. very niche stuff, but if you're interested you can hear the majority of it on bandcamp:
realmbuilder - fortifications of the pale architect
realmbuilder - summon the stone throwers

Directing movies and playing heavy metal wasn't enough, he's a novelist too?!
