The Descent (2005) Played as a D&D Campaign

Post by JSchlansky »

This one was a monster to render.

Neither player has seen the film so they aren't influenced by the actions of the characters and they don't know what to expect. This is a one-shot campaign, so the whole thing is right in this one long-ass video. Our base is 5th edition DnD, but it is super home-brewed to best serve the gamified version of the film.

A sanity meter has been incorporated for all of the characters and if it dips too low, the film's dream sequences will be triggered.

I mapped out the route that the girls took in the film, and expanded the cave to about 6x the size with extra paths and passages. The players could follow the route from the film or they could go a completely different route. The players are in charge of drawing their own map, so the element of human error could cause them to get lost as they progress.

Glad you like it, we've already shot the next one. It'll take a while to edit still though
