Does this happen? I review films, check out what my Kumpels are watching, but find it really hard to make contact with anyone. I know the forums have a purpose, but it would be great to form friendships with those who share similar tastes.....

try reaching out to your kumpels via the site's private messaging system, I've had some good conversation and gotten some good recommendations that way.

Yep, I get messages pretty regularly asking about a film, or even if I could watch one that I don't have rated yet.

PMs are always welcome, actually. I've found the active Critickers to be receptive and responsive (and pretty great)

I'll generally message a Kumpel if I see a movie I think they'd enjoy (based on their reviews I've read) or if I want to ask where they found a copy of an obscure piece. People have always been friendly and responsive, so my advice would be just to message anyone you fancy engaging with and you'll likely get some interesting, informative exchanges.
