Charles Senac, author of a unique novel with success is found dead in his home. Senac was the most despised of the whole neighborhood, including customers and the patron of the Yellow Fox, one Bar-restaurant where he had his habits.

Parisian Georges (Philippe Chevallier) is vacationing in Italy with his mistress, Emmanuelle (Alice Evans), when she discovers he has a wife and that his only source of income is an allowance from his mother-in-law (Stephane Audran). Crestfallen, Georges returns to the city to find that his mother-in-law plans to sell his swanky apartment. Now, Georges must fend off prospective buyers, a vindictive Emmanuelle and her jealous boyfriend.
When alimony payments catch up with Felix, his furniture is seized. After a decade-long marriage, Raoul leaves his wife. The two team for a job with Le Gai Vendangeur as sales reps, but they score zero while tooling around Brittany in a silly station wagon. However, when they're joined by friendly, sexy Eliane, sales surge.
