After his wife is killed, a lawyer (Robert Logan) relocates to backwoods Arkansas to begin again, but must prove his innocence-- with help from a professor friend (Kathleen Quinlan)--when a local boy is kidnapped and the perpetrator has framed him for the crime. Eliza is a young girl who leaves her life on the farm and heads to the big city. She gets her horoscope read by some old biddy who tells her that she'll find love soon. Eliza shacks up with an angry Indian who lives in a boardinghouse filled with all kinds of assorted weirdoes and crazies. Their bliss is short lived because he tries to blow up a bridge and gets shot by the police. Meanwhile, Eliza joins up with a horoscope worshipping cult and trips out on mushrooms.
A film record of the British part of Bob Dylan's turbulent world concert tour in 1966. Characterised by Dylan as an 'anti-documentary', the film alternates between scenes of Dylan on and off-stage, dramatised events, and interviews with fans and detractors after performances. (BFI)
