An orphan boy on his way to live with his uncle picks up a stray dog, and the two become fast friends. However, the uncle doesn't want the dog, and when chickens are found dead, the uncle accuses the dog of killing them. The boy decides that it's time he and the dog hit the road so they run away, and meet up with an elderly man who also ran away from a home where he believed he wasn't wanted either.

George Kelly (Phillip Terry), World-War-Two vet returning home from the war, is persuaded by a local politician, John Rooney (Donald McBride), assuming that Kelly would fall in line with the entrenched establishment. But, Kelly has his own agenda and exposes a crooked political set-up in in the town and is elected on the strength of his honesty.

Roy spends most of this movie resucing Dale from terrible fates. The film includes a reenactment of land rush opening the Oklahoma Territory. Songs include "I'm Beinning to See the Light," "Cherro, Cherro, cherokee," "I'm Gonna Have a Cowboy Wedding," and "Dragin' the Wagon." (imdb)

Rancher Jess Bailey, accompanied by his daughter Virginia, comes east to get his eastern-business partner John Larrigan to advance him more money to keep their rustler-plagued ranch afloat, and Craig and Virginia strike up a romance, which is going nowhere fast because of his elitist attitude.
