Bio: www.cinephiliauk.com We are CINEPHILIA, a UK-based site with a passion for cinema. We are not a group of \"movie hipsters\" who solely address films loathed by others or underrated by the masses, nor are we a group of fanboys who praise and conform to everyone else\'s opinions. We love specific films for a reason, whether they\'re masterpieces or average flicks. We keep our minds open and give every film an equal chance, whether from Hitchcock or Michael Bay.

100 66% The Best Years of Our Lives (1946) - Rated 25 Mar 2017
"William Wyler's engrossing masterpiece hits hard at every turn and crafts a story rife with exceptional drama and heartfelt emotion. A scene in particular, featuring Homer Parrish as he unveils the full extent of his disability to his fiancee, is like no scene I have ever seen, it was completely moving, I haven't felt so emotionally-affected by a film in quite some time, and then his everlasting smile as he sheds a single tear, powerfully complex in emotional value and extremely well-executed."
80 0% Platoon (1986) - Rated 24 Mar 2017
"'Platoon' doesn't glorify war, nor does it glorify the American army, it focuses on the human element, the hard-hitting reality, but also showcasing a divide in the American army between those fighting for a reason, then those who have little-to-no sympathy for those around them. I can't praise Oliver Stone enough for the harrowing experience that is 'Platoon'."
90 33% Stagecoach (1939) - Rated 24 Mar 2017
""There are some things a man just can't run away from." The prostitute, the outlaw, the alcoholic doctor, the slow-witted driver, the gambler, the marshal, the whiskey drummer, the egotistical banker and the pregnant lady, these are the characters that make up 'Stagecoach', the film that spawned the western talkies that made John Ford the auteur he is regarded as today. A prototype western like no other, and the thought that went into executing it make it one of the finest films of the 1930's."
