"I thank criticker.com for allowing me to be aware of the director's cut. This version of the film is unique from other director's cuts, as there are 40 minutes of additional run time. The third crusade was a time of political adultery, awkward alliances, and shady back stabbings between rulers and kings. It was important to tell the story in its entirety to properly convey the plethoric sense of unconditional duty these men felt towards this holy land. The theatrical never settled in coherently."
