30 T1 A Bad Moms Christmas (2017) - Mar 22, 2018
"It's a movie."
50 T3 Daddy's Home 2 (2017) - Mar 20, 2018
"Better than the first film. Lithgow is underused, but Gibson actually kills it. Still really marginalizes the women (especially Wahlberg's wife). A scene where we're excited to learn who Ferrell's mother's new husband is, but she is barely given a face is indicative of the film."
40 T2 Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets (2017) - Mar 20, 2018
"Pretty and innovative, but the writing is so bad. Dialogue is almost all rote, the energy dies in the expository scenes and the characters are universally terrible - from the sneering evil villain to Rihanna whose character arc is one of the worst ever in a film (no one cares about what happens to her) to the protagonists who have no personality and whose romance is horribly forced. None of this is helped by DeHaan's incredibly wooden acting."
60 T6 Naked Lunch (1991) - Feb 25, 2018
"It's got great style."
20 T1 The House (2017) - Feb 24, 2018
"Anti-art, almost a parody of a bad film. The plot just jumps along from one beat to the next whether it makes sense or not. Filled with musical montages. The two protagonists are absent for the first 2/3s of the film before becoming dumb caricatures. Ridiculous finish. And tries to have some heart to no success."
30 T1 Snatched (2017) - Feb 23, 2018
"Forgets the humor after about 10 minutes. The biggest bit is a terrible gag with a tapeworm and the other jokes sprinkled in are sub-sketch-comedy level bits about wacky supporting characters."
70 T8 Black Panther (2018) - Feb 17, 2018
70 T8 The Beatles: Eight Days a Week - The Touring Years (2016) - Feb 13, 2018
"Some great footage of the Beatles playing live."
60 T6 About Schmidt (2002) - Feb 12, 2018
50 T3 It Was Fifty Years Ago Today... Sgt Pepper and Beyond (2017) - Feb 12, 2018
"Facts and stories about the Beatles, circa 1966-67, but lacks any kind of central thesis and doesn't move along in any particular manner."
