72 76% Homo sapiens (2016) - Rated 23 Apr 2024
"A wonderful journey through the ruins of humanity, interrupted only by the sounds of insects, a frog, and a couple of birds. I spend 3 days watching it because it lulled me to sleep twice, which I didn’t really mind, it was a different experience for sure. I do think 1h30 is a bit much, but not enough to be boring necessarily; you just gotta be in the mood for a tranquil, speechless, music-less painting."
50 25% Nice: Sa Majesté Carnaval et le char des Limonadiers (1901) - Rated 18 Apr 2024
"Those giant dolls look quite creepy"
49 22% Mont Dore: L'Etablissement thermal (1900) - Rated 18 Apr 2024
"Not the most interesting one, apart form the little houses being carried around."
55 34% Les Escaliers du Pont de l'Alma (1900) - Rated 18 Apr 2024
"That’s a lot of people, fascinating"
50 25% Modern New Orleans (1940) - Rated 15 Apr 2024
"Depressingly dull docks, cemeteries (why?) and stunning night photography, this TravelTalk takes a peculiar route to show us the city of New Orleans"
44 18% Cavalcade of San Francisco (1940) - Rated 15 Apr 2024
"I SWEAR TO GOD they just can resist with “Cielito lindo” can they?? They play it every fucking time there is something vaguely Hispanic (I remember when they were showing off the panamanian exhibition in the Treasure Island one, and it was on the background, despite the fact that the song is MEXICAN). That all Old West performance felt kinda Disneyland"
46 19% Night Descends on Treasure Island (1940) - Rated 13 Apr 2024
"One of the least substantial TravelTalks: I mean, pretty lights, pretty paintings but come on James, give me *something* more"
58 39% Calling on Colombia (1940) - Rated 13 Apr 2024
"Praising Simon Bolivar, noting the absence of segregation, Fitz is feeling quite progressive! (in comparation with other TravelTalks *shudders remembering Fiji*). And it ends with a rainbow, how jolly and gay ;)"
60 46% The Capital City: Washington, D.C. (1940) - Rated 11 Apr 2024
"Quick little tour around D.C, nothing too crazy, but nice, nonetheless. Surprised by the lack of a long winded patriotic rant"
70 74% It's Coming (2020) - Rated 11 Apr 2024
"https://vimeo.com/483378749 Thanks! I hate it. So dystopian, jesus"
