" I guess my point is that you don't have to make the argument that it's morally reprehensible to claim this is a bad movie. It's just a bad movie no matter how generously you categorize it. https://letterboxd.com/pickle_man2135/film/i-spit-on-your-grave-2010/"

"That's a new one, blue sky on Mars."
65 27% Trick 'r Treat (2008) - Oct 19, 2019
"Pretty much par for the course for these anthology type horror movies, which is to say uneven and unremarkable. Seems like it was designed to be a 'cable classic', the kind of thing that gets played on 24 hour repeat on AMC or TNT during October."

"Soooooooo angsty. Clear prototype for 'Jennifer's Body'. "
85 64% Candyman (1992) - Oct 18, 2019
"Had low expectations going in, partly because the 90s sucked for horror, and partly because basically all horror movies with the title format [thing]man suck. Was very pleasantly surprised. It's got a bit of a mystery tone to it rather than straight slasher - reminds me of Verbinski's Ring remake. The Phillip Glass score is absolutely fantastic."
65 27% The Fifth Element (1997) - Oct 12, 2019
"One of those movies that actually manages to be less than the sum of it's parts. Oldman is great, Jovovich is good, costumes and sets are neat, story is serviceable, so I'm going to blame Besson for not bringing it all together. Really the tone is just unfocused. I like that it's weird and wacky and not afraid to be silly, but it comes across more as the 'lol so random xD' kind of weird than a purposeful weird."
100 95% Rampage (2009) - Oct 10, 2019
"Remember, no Russian. Making a movie with an indiscriminate spree shooter who kills people because he's woke about capitalism and climate change as the protagonist was an absolutely fucking bonkers idea in 2009. Watching it in 2019 is just... S O C I E T Y."
20 3% 13 Reasons Why (2017) - Oct 09, 2019
"Season 1. The main characters are an impotent niceguy milquetoast and his high school crush who desperately wants his dick but is just helplessly attracted to the douchebags she dates instead. Then she kills herself because her dating life sucked. Seems way more like some incel fantasy than a serious 'conversation starter' about mental health. The only thing funnier than how deathly seriously the characters treat dumb high school bullshit is how fucking seriously the showrunners treat it."
