100 89% Hot Fuzz (2007) - Rated 16 May 2014
"A stunning homage, satire, parody and pastiche of all action films, all buddy buddy films, all good cop against a group of villains. It's savagely clever, exceptionally funny and an utter joy. A brilliant follow up to Shaun of the Dead."
75 36% Unknown (2011) - Rated 16 May 2014
"A weaker Taken. Good enough if in the mood for a quick action movie. Neeson is as enjoyable as he always is and Frank Langella excels."
55 17% Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope (1977) - Rated 30 Mar 2014
"I'm going to admit, I'm not a big fan of the Star Wars trilogy. The first film is relatively well made and has a fairly decent story to it. I understand that it has influenced a number of my favourite films but I find it a bit of a slog to watch."
35 1% Superman III (1983) - Rated 30 Mar 2014
"Wow, where to start with this? It's very apparent that the leading focus and drive of the Reeve Superman films was Richard Donner. This sequel really is quite disjointed and poor. It lacks Donner, Hackman, Kidman, a coherent story and proper direction. There are occasional moments that could be part of a better film but these are few and far between. At least Reeve is as fantastic as ever and the Duel of the Supermen junkyard fight features sublime acting from him."
80 39% Stranger Than Fiction (2006) - Rated 24 Mar 2014
"Will Ferrell plays against type in this smart comedy and it serves to show that behind his brash, loud comedy stylings he is a very capable actor. A great supporting cast make this film a fine piece of entertainment."
82 43% Superbad (2007) - Rated 15 Mar 2014
"A fun romp with larger than life characters, a silly plot and plenty of jokes. The chemistry between Cera and Hill is natural and loving, I believed every second of their friendship."
95 74% Shaun of the Dead (2004) - Rated 15 Mar 2014
"Laugh out loud and brilliantly subversive, this is a loving homage to horror and all it's facets. Written with supreme expertise and acted perfectly. Debuts don't come much better than this."
100 89% Serenity (2005) - Rated 14 Mar 2014
"A worthy final chapter to the TV series Firefly. As a huge fan of the show, this film gave me everything I wanted in a big budget version and then some. I only wish there had been more to continue."
90 62% Superman II: The Richard Donner Cut (2006) - Rated 14 Mar 2014
"This is the definitive version of the Superman sequel. If 2 seemed strange at times, it was due to the studios meddling and removal of Richard Donner (the man responsible for the greatness of the first film). This cut almost restores the entirety of the vision Donner had when making the sequel and is a far better film than that released in cinemas."
88 51% Superman: The Movie (1978) - Rated 14 Mar 2014
"Great fun, great acting, great story and great pacing. This is a fantastically packed film that feels lifted right from the comics themselves. Christopher Reeve is still the best Superman comitted to film and Margot Kidder's Lois Lane is his perfect foil. It's a shame that the second film was taken over and they produced three and four. Reeve and Kidder deserved better."
