"Brilliant period drama. Very faithful to the spirit of the book, superb acting, impressive set and costume design, great photography (perhaps except for the overuse of vintage lenses). No insertion of contemporary politics so far, which is a breath of fresh air."

"Pretty good. James Bond with time travel and it actually is consistent. Cool gimmick, very solid action. Exposition-heavy but that's honestly needed. And only two brief feminist lectures, which really isn't that bad for a 2020 movie."

"High gloss WWII spy thriller/romance. Costumes and sets are on point, as is the direction. Script has too much going on and would work better as a book. Little chemistry between the main stars. Enjoyable overall. Slight point deduction for immersion-breaking woke side plot."

"One of the few movies you'll enjoy more if you read the books. A lot of the more esoteric plot points are left unexplained (but are present). I think this makes it a better movie but a worse story if you only watch what's going on on the screen. Read the book first and get the best of both worlds. Some of the casting choices were a bit odd. Not bad, just odd. Otherwise spectacular in all aspects. Even the girlbossification of Chani is not as annoying as it should have been."
