"An excellent mixture of suspense, horror, and great special effects, Jaws does a great job of not only telling its story but scarring people for life and making sharks seem scarier than they really are. Combine that with the well told personal story of the main protagonist and you have an instant classic."
|60 11%||Star Wars: Episode IX - The Rise of Skywalker (2019) - Apr 19, 2020
"Trying to pick up the pieces left after the last movie, this film moves at a breakneck pace in an attempt to hide its many many flaws. It also doesn't even attempt to explain many of the things that happen in the film because it seems that the story team felt that the explanations would be more damaging to the film then just not giving any. It's not without its saving graces but is ultimately a sad ending to a once storied franchise."
|54 9%||Star Wars: Episode VIII - The Last Jedi (2017) - Apr 19, 2020
"Arguably a betrayal of the fanbase, the Last Jedi is chalk full of real world politics, agendas, looney toons comedy and physics, irreverence for what has come before (in the OT as well as Episode 7), and subversion often just for subversion sake. Not all the ideas attempted were irreverent or bad in and of themselves. But their execution and the laziness of the writing doomed this movie to failure from a quality literary standpoint and ultimately made it polarizing for fans."
|78 46%||Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens (2015) - Apr 19, 2020
"Disney's first entry for their own Sequel Trilogy, the Force Awakens is a flawed movie if you examine it to closely. However, it leaves a ton of possibilities open for the remaining movies and creates some intrigue questions for fans to ponder. More than that, it signals the return of Star Wars to the big screen. Because of that, most were willing to overlook many of its flaws and enjoy it for what it was."
|83 66%||Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (2005) - Apr 19, 2020
"Dark, action packed, and emotionally charged, the finale of the Prequel Trilogy is unquestionably the best of the trio. George Lucas does a great job of tying everything together and showing character progression and the heroes and villains of this film really shine, making it all a fun ride to the finish line."
|70 23%||Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones (2002) - Apr 19, 2020
"Much of the clunky dialogue continues in this film along with a few cringeworthy scenes and acting moments. However, Jar Jar's role is drastically reduced, we get some good world building, and get to see the Jedi as a real fighting force for the first time. All in all, it's a movie that you will probably either like or hate."
|66 16%||Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace (1999) - Apr 19, 2020
"Painful in many parts, it's a story that clearly had potential but not enough people actually streamlining and course correcting it. Combine that with wacky sidekicks that didn't please fans and awkward dialog and the movie quickly devolved into a mess. The Kenobi, Quigon, and Darth Maul characters and their lightsaber fight are the saving grace of this movie and manage to thankfully keep some of it afloat."
|83 66%||Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi (1983) - Apr 19, 2020
"Easily the weakest of the original trilogy, that does not mean it wasn't still entertaining and fun to watch. It provides the Star Wars staples its fans expected and loved while bringing the saga to a satisfying end. Outside of a little bit of merchandising "cash grabbiness" and a few overly silly aspects of the plot, the Return of the Jedi succeeds in ending the Original Trilogy in a high note."
|96 96%||Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back (1980) - Apr 19, 2020
"The Empire Strikes back was arguably beforeit's time, not only because it was a sequel that was arguably better than the original, but also because it featured one of the greatest plot twists in cinema history and was a rare chase where the good guys didn't win outright. Add in the same exception visuals and characters from the first film and you have another instant classic."
|84 70%||Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (2016) - Apr 19, 2020
"A surprising fun and classic Star Wars feeling movie produced by Disney, Rogue One is far from perfect. However, what it lacks in polish it makes up for in charm and does a great job expanding on existing Star Wars mythos and making itself relevant by doing so."
