70 29% Short Cuts (1993) - Rated 14 Aug 2007
"I love the filmmaker (Altman) and the author (Carver) but this film left me cold. There are some incredible moments (Tom Waits dancing around the living room with Lily Tomlin) but the subtle complexities of Carver's stories were never meant for the silver screen."
70 29% Mean Girls (2004) - Rated 14 Aug 2007
"Tina Fey rocks! I'd probably watch this a second time."
90 79% The Triplets of Belleville (2003) - Rated 14 Aug 2007
"Amazing what can be done without dialog. Great sound design and animation."
90 79% Fast Times at Ridgemont High (1982) - Rated 14 Aug 2007
"Classic of the genre, only thing better is Valley Girl."
90 79% Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb (1964) - Rated 14 Aug 2007
"One of Kubrick's funnier films. You know, funnier than The Shining."
90 79% Elephant (2003) - Rated 14 Aug 2007
"Saw this movie. It said more about Columbine than Bowling for Columbine ever could."
20 0% The Fast and the Furious (2001) - Rated 14 Aug 2007
"I'm supposed to like films like this: fast cars, hot women, cool special effects, hip-hop soundtrack. The cars may have looked good, but the camera never showed them any love. The women were hot, but not enough skin (for this kind of movie). The special effects were awesome, but had little to do with moving the story along. The music: Ja Rule. Don't even watch it on a bet."
50 3% The Mothman Prophecies (2002) - Rated 14 Aug 2007
"An incoherent pile of crap. Pretty in spots (especially the climactic bridge scenes), but empty of any true emotion."
69 18% The Man Who Wasn't There (2001) - Rated 14 Aug 2007
"Given the ingredients (the Coens, Billy Bob Thornton, James Gandolfini) it should have been great. Maybe it was and I just didn't get it. There are few Coen Brothers movies that I would "pass" on. This one tops that list."
70 29% The Shawshank Redemption (1994) - Rated 14 Aug 2007
"Stephen King's stories work on the screen. I find this a pleasant companion to Stand By Me."
