"Aside from the homo-erotic near pillow fight in Rivendell when Frodo is recovering from his wounds during his trip to Mt Doom, this is a pretty amazing adaptation of the book. The special effects are awesome, and Jackson did a great job, imho, of picking an choosing what to keep in and what to leave out. My favorite part in the theatre was listening to the wraiths as they flew into the battle scenes...it sounded like they were all around the theatre...good stuff!"

"Gorgeous animation...I especially enjoyed the world of the dead being in color while the world of the living was in muted tones of grey. It was a beautiful film to look at...but 6 months out, I can't really tell you what the plot was. I will admit, that I'm one to enjoy a film if it's pretty and this one was definitely that."

Sophie's resilience in the face of adversity is admirable and the story, until the last 10 minutes, is fascinating. Again... it's Miyazaki, so I'm captivated at the get go...but I really love the romanticism of this film..."

"My first Miyazaki film...and once Cartoon Network ran the Miyazaki filmfest in March and April of 2006, I was able to see that it wasn't this film alone that I loved...it was the animation and the beauty of the stories that Miyazaki can tell that enveloped me...I love how Chihiro learns to depend on herself...and I love the characters in this story..."

"Totally not a comedy...and that's how it was advertised...but wow, so enjoyable. There are a lot of unanswered questions when you watch this film, but I think that's what makes it so enjoyable. Nice twist at the end that is accepted almost too quickly by the members affected."
