Bio: Open-minded young adult looking to learn more about movies, art, music, culture (including human behavior) ........and pretty much anything. Very much open to critiquing various films/music/activities, though be warned: In the past I have given the impression of being somewhat abrasive. However, this is a misinterpretation. It\'s just that I am unabashedly outspoken when I feel strongly about something. At times, I can have a sharp, perhaps caustic wit, which has gotten me into trouble.

"Unbelievable. I originally had 100 in the score I gave it, but then upon further reflection, it had no boobs in it, and so I docked 5 points. That would be really weird, though. So, perhaps I should put the points back on. Whatever. It was so right up my alley, it's awe striking. I loved it all, frankly. If its your style of movie, definitely go see it. I didn't see it in 3D, and I still thought it was the best thing ever. Gonna have to do that sometime. It's not scary either, people."

"This is the kind of movie that during, you find yourself just saying, "yeah. alright", instead of "what?" I mean you constantly agree with it an revel in its magic. Truly an amazing movie. Dramatic in a good way; outstanding directing, acting, plot progression, general theme; Provocative; Poignant; Classic In my top five movies for sure. Don't understand people who don't love it.........might even not like those people because of that. Literally."
30 82% American Psycho (2000) - Rated 27 Nov 2008
"Um...... This movie was recommended to me, in part b/c I've been told I look like Christian Bale, though I think they're full of s***. I really wish I hadn't listened to their reco. I thought it was, well, awful. So hokey, unimaginative, rigid and .........spastic is maybe the word I'm looking for.........no that's not it......"
10 57% Memento (2001) - Rated 27 Nov 2008
"Oh my good God!!! SEE IT. SEE IT NOW. This movie is SO great. Trust me when I tell you that you probably won't understand it completely the first time through. The way it's done, though, esp. the timeline aspect of it (eg b&w vs. color, progression is linear, buy convoluted - simultaneously in two different directions). Who thinks of that? Who I ask you? If you've answered geniuses, then you are correct. Great sndtrk too. I have seen this movie so many times, it might be absurd."
10 57% The Big Lebowski (1998) - Rated 27 Nov 2008
"OMG!! Do you really mean to tell me that you haven't seen this? If you haven't, do so immediately. I found it hysterical right away, but it's ne of those movies that many people find takes a while to sink in. Nonetheless, when it does, it purchases acres of real estate, b/c it's not going anywhere - it's that affecting. You'll likely find yourself and all your cronies quoting lines from the movie constantly, evewn at innapropriate times. Don't worry; Everyone does."
10 57% Trainspotting (1996) - Rated 27 Nov 2008
"Perhaps my favorite movie of all time. Now, if you're not the type who can appreciate a good drug movie, then this is emphatically: NOT FOR YOU. Great acting. Funny. Excellently dramatic (upon retrospect) in that it makes a statement about society/life in general. If you're reading this and you also liked it, please recommend me some similar titles, though I may have already seen them."
10 57% The Departed (2006) - Rated 27 Nov 2008
"If this site would display my score correctly, it'd be 10/5: First time I saw it, reaction was basically WTF. Everybody, everybody gets killed. Then I found myself, months after, wanting to see it again. So I did.......about 5 times in as many days. So very gripping, and thought-provoking (if you'll recall from other reviews, these are my fave types). Cconfusing first time through, which may be why I didn't like it. Now, though, I'm hooked. Really starting to appreciate Leo."
10 57% Requiem for a Dream (2000) - Rated 27 Nov 2008
"One of those movies that is directed incredibly well, and in this case, as many others, it's the directing of the movie that makes it. Unsettling, in a word. And that's it's power, and I believe, it's purpose. That being said, other adjectives to describe it: genius, provocative, at times a bit scary. If you've ever picked up the needle, get a good farewell shot and watch this, b/c you may never again."
17% Pi (1998) - Rated 27 Nov 2008
"Falls into the category of movies that will make you think, challenge you, and from which you may just emerge a better person (AKA my favorite kinds of movies). If you liked it, and well, even if you didn't, try on Aronofsky's other works, most prominently in my mind: Requiem for a Dream, Donnie Darko. Though Donnie Darko is, for all it's unpredictability in plot, is at all times fairly predictable in mood / character interaction"
32% Donnie Brasco (1997) - Rated 27 Nov 2008
"Saw this earlier this year. Saw it because I had always promised myself that I would, and knew that I had to. I was certainly not dissapointed. Rather, I was thrilled. "Gangster movie" - Yes. "Shoot em-up"-type, bloody, gory movie - No. Which was actually incredibly refreshing. The juxtaposition of Depp and Pacino, two of the greatest actors of our age, is simply brilliant. I've always liked Depp, and this movie didn't depict Pacino in a volatile, hardcore, maniacal character he often is"
