Bio: I have been an avid film fanatic since I was 3 yrs old watching Schwarzenegger, JCVD and Seagal with my father slaughter bad guys, spew one-liners and blow shit up.

I try to be as critically objective with my reviews as possible. I don't buy into hype or follow consensus. I also don't intentionally go against the herd to stand out or be cool. Hate that. I just give out scores I think these movies deserve. Thanks for visiting and enjoy!

100-90: Classic. 90-80: Excellent. 80-70: Solid. 70-60: Meh. 60-50: Terrible. 50-0: Soul crushing.

"Everything I value in a movie is represented here to near perfection. I can't stop thinking about this movie. It makes you really dig deep and think about your own life and existence. It has an emotional depth that you just don't see very often. There is such power in its black and white cinematography; the lighting, framing and timing of shots are perfect. It's one of the best movies I have ever seen."

"The amount of talent on display is absolutely mind-boggling. Plus, a soundtrack by Vangelis? Count me in. I was surprised I had never heard of this movie before. So, did it live up to all that talent? Not really... The screenplay and direction are so-so, and some of the big names either phoned in their performance or were grossly underutilized. I thought it was entertaining, but it's nothing special."
75 T6 Close Encounters of the Third Kind (1977) - Oct 18, 2017
"Of Spielberg's earlier works, this is probably the most difficult to watch today. It just doesn’t hold up well to repeat viewings. I still enjoy Jaws and E.T. because they get the human elements right. It's the journey of their discovery that makes them special. Not so much here. The protagonist, who is a complete jerk-off, is not someone you'd root for. Also, I do wish they’d have gone with a more menacing spaceship; the colorful goofy-looking saucers screamed kid’s movie."
