"For me, Night of the Living Dead(1968) is of the Gothic-Horror genre. In a field of study as well-established as the Gothic, it is surprising how much contention there is over precisely what that term refers to. Is Gothic a genre, for example, or a mode? Should it be only applicable to literary and film texts that deal with tropes of haunting and trauma set in a gloomy atmosphere, or might it meaningfully be applied to other cultural forms of production, such as music or animation? "By the time I came to watch some of The Matrix Revolutions in 2014, the Matrix phenomenon had already come to an end for five years. This film was a 2003 American science-fiction action piece, and was the third installment of The Matrix Trilogy. The film was released six months following The Matrix Reloaded. The film was written and directed by those same Wachowski Brothers, and released simultaneously in 60 countries on 5 November 2003. By 2003 I had been retired from all FT and PT work."
63 85% Pride and Prejudice (1995) - Rated 31 May 2009
"My mother-in-law, a woman in her late eighties, finds watching movies adapted from Jane Austen novels boring. Her attitude mirrors, somewhat, the reaction of novelist Henry James who saw the characters in Austens novels as having small and second-rate minds, Philistines one and all. Emerson found Austen to be imprisoned in a wretched and smothering conventionality with an excessive concern for marriageableness. Such is life--there are many views of Jane Austen.-Ron Price."
