10 TOXIC. So bad, or hurtful, or immoral as to render any technical evaluation irrelevant. A film that takes something away from life.
20 TERRIBLE. Not a single good thing to say, but not toxic per se.
30 BAD. Why did they bother? (Why did I?)
40 WEAK. May have a good performance here, a nice scene there, or some sort of value to someone in a particular way, but shoddy in every other regard.
50 MEDIOCRE. For every good thing it has going for it, there is another one countering that.
60 FINE. A fairly well-made version of what it is trying to be. Fundamentals are there, but no real inspiration or spark of magic.
70 GOOD. A good idea, executed well, with a couple of glistening moments. Still probably forgettable.
75 GOODER.
80 GREAT. High quality. A compelling story, told with conviction. Consistently shines, but may have a couple of comparatively weaker moments or features.
85 GREATER.
90 EXCELLENT. A flawless version of what it is trying to be, or, if it has detectable defects, it also does something extraordinary to overcome them.
95 EXCELLENTER.
100 TRANSCENDENT. So great, or transformative, or inspirational as to render any technical evaluation irrelevant. Not impossible, but irrelevant.
