59% The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (2005) - Rated 14 Aug 2007
"Never read the book but liked the movie. Some really fun moments although it tends to bog down at the end. Some the the jokes are one note and overused(manic-depressive robot)."
72% The Black Hole (1979) - Rated 14 Aug 2007
"Sci-fi classic with great set and character design, albeit with sometimes bad effects(wires showing on robots). Excellent adventure film with a solid concept and great ending."
72% Training Day (2001) - Rated 14 Aug 2007
10 95% The Thing (1982) - Rated 14 Aug 2007
"Still holds up some twenty years later. The best thing about the Thing is that its not only got some great scares but the movie is interesting in its own right. Blood test scene is one of the great jump scare moments in horror history. All male cast makes for an interesting dynamic with no romantic subplot to bog the film down."
4% Solaris (2002) - Rated 14 Aug 2007
"Probably the worst movie I have ever witnessed in the theatre. Most of the audience walked out before an hour had gone by. Slow, boring, lifeless, too much bare Clooney ass. Tries to be deep but only succeeds in being both sophomoric and somewhat impenetrable."
45% The Matrix Revolutions (2003) - Rated 14 Aug 2007
"hurrrrrrrrrrr. A limp end to the trilogy. Neo is Jesus, or perhaps Santa Clause"
45% Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (2005) - Rated 14 Aug 2007
"Snape kills Dumbeldore"
86% Serenity (2005) - Rated 14 Aug 2007
"This movie is all about the characters, they are all distinct and very memorable. The setting is unique, but it relies a bit too much on standard sci-fi tropes(psychics, superhuman assassins, government with a secret to hide) for the main thrust of the plot. Overall a very enjoyable film."
22% AVP: Alien vs. Predator (2004) - Rated 14 Aug 2007
"Waste of a potentially awesome concept. The setting is all wrong, Antarctica, WTF? Should have been in space with AVP battling it out with space marines. Action falls flat except in a couple of notable parts."
31% Hellboy (2004) - Rated 14 Aug 2007
"Good character design with Hellboy but the movie is a sensless mishmash of occult tropes, like throwing Nazis, demons, and Lovecraftian monsters together. The action is totally flat, which is a definite no-no for a comic book movie."
