100 0% 28 Days Later (2002) - Rated 19 Jul 2009
"One of the best modern thrillers. Intelligent film-making that freaks you the hell out at the same time."
95 0% Grease (1978) - Rated 19 Jul 2009
"One of the greatest musicals of all-time, and the damned thing still holds up after over 20 (OMG!!! 30) years! Olivia Newton-John is adorable as the sweet Australian high school exchange student Sandy, while Travolta is the macho-goof slacker Danny who fell for her during Summer Break. It's pure, naughty fun with good music, and a genuine connection between all of the characters."
100 0% Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon (2000) - Rated 19 Jul 2009
"As most of the movies already have pre-written descriptions, I'll just say that this is one of the greatest movies I've ever seen. The well-crafted love story is accentuated with amazing acting and poetic, gravity-defying fight sequences that deserve a description more worthy than "special effects." Action-Adventure that women will dig, while guys will still say "whoa...!""
80 0% There Will Be Blood (2007) - Rated 19 Jul 2009
"Until the day I die, I will say that the studio's got it all mixed up: "There Will Be Blood" should have been called "No Country For Old Men," and vice versa. "No Country..." was a better film, but "Blood" is still classic storytelling. In 1898 New Mexico, Daniel Day Lewis is a heartless oilman who tries to build his empire while caring for his son."
80 0% The Sixth Sense (1999) - Rated 19 Jul 2009
"Keyser Soze ("The Usual Suspects"), Dil ("The Crying Game") and Dr. Malcolm Crowe ("The Sixth Sense"). These three characters provided the best plot twists in modern movie history. In Sixth Sense, Crowe (Bruce Willis) tries to help a young boy whose strange behavior has freaked out his mom and alienated him from friends. When the boy reveals his "secret," Crowe's help not only helps the boy begin to heal, but helps Crowe finally come to grips with the gaps in his own marriage."
95 0% Pan's Labyrinth (2006) - Rated 19 Jul 2009
"An amazing movie - fantastic and horrific at the same time. In Spain during WWII, a young girl escapes her mother's painful pregnancy and an evil stepfather by taking on 3 gruesome tasks assigned by a mythical faun who tells her that she's an actual princess. Completing the tasks will prove her loyalty and connect her with her real father, a king. The girl takes on the tasks, which are both visually stunning and life-threatening, while forces gather at home to defeat her step-father's tyranny."
80 0% History of the World: Part I (1981) - Rated 19 Jul 2009
"Funny, funny and funny. Best Mel Brooks film ever, from the masturbating monkeys to Madeline Kahn's musical decision-making while facing a line of eunichs (a song I still sing when out amongst a group of men)."
80 0% Who Framed Roger Rabbit (1988) - Rated 19 Jul 2009
"Great movie, but it hasn't managed to hold up against the technical advances of time. But at the time, it was a great celebration of looney tunes-style characters and an impressive animation/live action mix film. For those with Angelina Jolie's Beowolf scene in their heads, Jessica Rabbit is still the sexiest illustrated character in film, hands down. Jessica's boyfriend, Roger Rabbit, is a cartoon rabbit accused of murdering a human, and hires a detective to save him from "death by dip!""
85 0% Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle (2003) - Rated 19 Jul 2009
"It's cheesy and impossible not to laugh at, but still a fun ride from beginning to end. Cameron Diaz is bubbly, Crispin Glover is creepy, Lucy Liu is sexy and Drew Barrymore is...well...Drew Barrymore: the chick you wanna get high with while dropping water balloons over a freeway overpass. The anonymous "Charlie" assigns the angels to guard a software bigwig, while uncovering a plot to kill their boss. If you take the movie seriously AT ALL, then you wont enjoy it (and you might need some help)"
80 0% Stir of Echoes (1999) - Rated 19 Jul 2009
"A fine story, with very good production value and a great performance by Kevin Bacon. The mystery and suspense kept you interested, and it's the only "talking from beyond the grave-" style movie that felt both realistic and eerie."
