"this is a love-it-or-hate-it movie. i hate it. it's a complete mess. there was a good idea in there somewhere, but somebody needed to tell Anderson to do at least one rewrite. i like tom cruise's foul-mouthed character, one of the few times i've ever liked him in anything. pta has started to mature with punch drunk love and there will be blood but he still thinks too highly of himself."
