Straddles the line between unintentional comedy and horror. To it's credit, it's one of the most convincing found-footage flicks I've ever seen.

An interesting pre-Blair Witch "found footage" film. There's a lot of cliches, some really bad acting (the daughter and the grandmother), technical errors, and the third act is lackluster, but it's still strangely compelling and sometimes scary. The alien trapped in the upstairs bedroom scene is probably the best. Still, it lacks consistency, which makes it frustrating and ruins some of the immersion. It should be scarier than it is.

Tries its hardest to seem real, and succeeds in a lot of ways despite falling prey to ham-fisted and cheesy moments.

Vastly inferior to The Blair Witch Project, with a far less scary ending and far more terrible acting/dialogue. "I pissed my pants, man. What's up with that?" The decision to actually show the aliens was a bad move.

I assume the high school project level production was done to give it even more of the genuine found footage feel, but in the end it just added to the cheesiness when you add in the fact that the aliens were clearly just people in masks along with the mediocre dialogue
