:') I wish I didn't find out how fun Carrie Fisher was until it was too late because we totally would've been BFFs.

Two cool women doing cool things and oh god why can't I be this cool?

It was wonderful to see home movie footage of the family growing up, and I learned a lot. It was sad, too, of course. Carrie is hilarious in it, and someone I really admire. I truly wish I could've been friends with her. As a film, it's nothing spectacular. But it doesn't really need to be - it just lets the two amazing women be themselves, aided by a lot of archival footage. Definitely worth a watch if you're at all interested in either of them.

Intensely moving documentary no doubt benefits from the contemporaneous passing of Fisher and Reynolds, but on its own terms it serves as a raw and honest dissection of love and affection in a clearly difficult and flinty family, exacerbated by life under the microscope at the dawn of the paparazzi age. That Stevens and Bloom can cover such weighty topics (as well as Reynolds' and Fisher's respective roles in pop culture) in such a concise amount of time is a credit to them and their 'stars'.

The doc isn't particularly groundbreaking, but is a candid look at two big stars—both of whom became famous in very different ways. And if you ever feel sad about the end of their story, then this film can be cathartic.

Marvelous--it allows both its subjects to shine, without putting anyone on a pedestal. A must for anyone interested in either one. Carrie was one of the funniest women of the last 50 years, and it's such a gift to be able to experience some of her razor-sharp wit and intellect here. And I had no idea she was such a good singer (you'd certainly never know it from the Star Wars Holiday Special...).

Too depressing to enjoy just weeks after the double-shock.

Just heartbreaking, even more so under the circumstances. A great documentary with love and humor emerging from every scene, even though they show the dark sides and times as well.
