Daria: Is It College Yet?

Quinn: "Daria, if you look your best when you blow a guy off, it makes them feel like you care." Daria: "Well that advice should prove very helpful. Sometimes your shallowness is so thorough it's almost like depth."

A disappointing finale for such a great show, although it does conclude on a satisfying enough note. It doesn't work that well as a continuation of the show, but it is nice to see a film that portrays teenagers beginning to take responsibility and think seriously about their futures as they begin to enter adulthood.

An excellent finale movie that shows the writers have lost nothing in their sharp wit and humor. In fact, it's so good that you want to ask them to stay on and do another season. Sadly, it was not to be. Daria confronts the challenges and hypocrisies of the world as she gets ready to go off to college. Very funny, very insightful, this movie.

Daria is an acquired taste, like a quiet pond surrounded on all sides by rushing rapids. All the other shows out there are elbowing their humor, action and drama on the viewer, while this show could really give a damn. The film is more of just that. Nothing more and nothing less than what the show gives you.
