Oh, her name is Sarah Fier. Get it? Fear Street -- Sarah Fier. If you would just look at the bulletin board behind me, you'd see how this is all connected. This really did not have to be 110 minutes. This really could have hummed along if it was, like, 80-90 minutes.

Fear Street 2 basically solves all the issues from Fear Street 1; better setting, way better acting, an actual mystery that isn't revealed in the intro and the romance drama isn't poorly written or takes up too much time. It keeps the fun of the first movie and is an overall good time to have if you're in the slasher mood. The movie takes a slow start with a 45 minute buildup, but it establishes the main characters well, so it doesn't feel like wasted time.

I wouldn't advise anyone to watch this in an abandoned campsite where many children died as the wifi connection is often weak at best.

I have no idea what Fear Street 1666 is going to do with no popular music to fallback onto. I would’ve been blaring Neil Diamond until the Alice Cooper kids bullied me into paste, before they catch wind of the ABBAmaniacs. Takes forever to get going but it’s worth the jukebox journey.

It's entertaining, but it's just that. It's not gonna make you laugh too much or feel too thrilled or too scared, it just kinda is. Kind of like a microwave dinner, it passes the time.

A fun little slasher. I'm not entirely sure the overarching cursed town theme is working for me particularly, but the standalone camp parts are fun.

The only watchable movie of the three. Decent period piece that barely has the awful main character of the series in it.

The second installment is either an homage or a cheap facsimile of classic slasher movies, depends on how much credit you want to give Janiak. It's margainally better than the first one, but still nothing to write home about.

This one was pretty fun. But ima sucker for this kind of pastiche. Pretty brutal kills for this kind of thing too

This trilogy is turning into a huge surprise for me. I was dreading sorry sequel syndrome here, but thankfully this was more Home Alone 2 than, say, Pocahontas 2. I've never seen Pocahontas 2, but c'mon. Also, it was fun to finally see Emily Rudd in something- & she nailed it. Standout performance. The Gillian Jacobs sighting was nice, too. Once again, this is solid all around & I was impressed by just how engaged I was for all 110 minutes. A few hokey bits, but nothing too bad. Worth a look.

A big improvement on part 1, to the point where Sadie Sink growing up into Gillian Jacobs is actually the least believable thing here. Better character work, better thematic work of rags vs riches, less jarring tone, much better (if still fairly formulaic) slasher dynamics. Now I'm wondering if I just like this better because I personally have much less experience of 1978 than of 1994. Oh well.

The setting and script are perfectly crafted, as the dual narrative perspectives play off each other well (see the dramatic irony after the killer gets loose), and the discomfort and anxious excitement of summer camp (cue mean teens, raging hormones, and sweaty Lord of the Flies-charged games of capture the flag) blend seamlessly into the bloody, supernatural-tinged horror that brings the film to a truly brutal climax. A cohesive, well-acted slasher film that keeps you engaged throughout.

Great homage to the slasher films of the 70s, it carries the same energy from the first instalment. Extremely brutal but still has a sense of fun. It's doesn't fall into the middle-film syndrome, instead sets you up nicely for the finale (also with a nice twist).

Entertaining if on-the-nose slasher/Jason homage. Lacks the inventiveness of the preceding part, but that is more than made up for with strong performances and slick production. Enjoyed Gillian Jacobs's classy if brief appearance. Absolutely nails the nostalgic, tropey feel of the setting/film cycle, though (even given the genre) it is a little lacking in exposition. Expected more occult wiccan antics. There's still not really much rhyme or reason as to why things happen to these characters!

Probably a little worse than the first, possibly because it feels like a rehash. The themes, character dynamics and limited expansion of the lore make this sequel seem more like a reboot or remake than a necessary continuation. The weakest link is the contrived characters and their forced, expository portrayal. However, Sadie Sink is a captivating lead and the film goes by surprisingly quickly. Though it's arguably inessential, it remains a perfectly pleasant, competently created horror option.

Of similar quality to the first but lesser. The Ziggy twist was so obvious and they made such a big deal of it that I thought I missed something (nope). Anyway, besides that, just another fun slasher like the first with good music. Has characters that I can invest in because it takes some time to establish them, while also having a plot that is unfolding in an interesting way. I like how they're tying the decades together.

This was a big improvement over the first film in every way. I actually enjoyed it and was so invested that I was surprised when it was over.

There aren’t any standout moments like there were in the first one (mall and supermarket scenes), but the jarring tonal shifts are mostly fixed. While it still uses a ton of music from the time period, it does allow a little more time between each song unlike the first. For the most part I’d say the characters are slightly better too, pacing is better, and the kills are more frequent (although nothing special). Not one of the best slashers in recent memory, but above average.

In an increasingly common phenomenon of disappointing sequels Fear Street manages to level up with a decent sequel. The characters, pacing and building suspense all improve and really set the vibe of the story. I am still looking for the final lesson to be learnt which both the movies seemed to save for the finale.

It's more gory than the first one, which is a good thing? This one too is full of cliches and inane monologues spoken at the worst possible times. I guess the homage to old horror movies wouldn't be complete without the bad parts too...

Way more solid than 1994 in its reference-fanfest because it at least tries to update -- still in a very glossy, good-looking, but definitely not cinematically sexy or provocative fashion -- what it is desperately trying to create: nostalgia of an era filmmakers and audiences lived through cinema as they now try to filter and redefine it by their own rules. Mythology bits feels rushed and too expository, but at least more engaging and character-oriented -- and Sadie is brilliant.

This had a tough job of bridging the other two films into a coherent trilogy and it did a pretty good job. Loved that it was built on the relationships between two sisters and also two friends. It also amped up the thematically relevant tensions between the haves and the have nots and also gruff Gillian Jacobs is sooo good. I love the idea of the trilogy and how the movies layer themselves together to give Shadyside a sense of rich history.
