I don't think this hits as hard as the other stuff I've seen by him. That's not to say it's BAD because it isn't. He's still interesting, his rants are mostly on-point, it just lacks the humour to go along with it. I go to Carlin for a mixture of comedy and anger, this has way more anger than comedy. So it's still not boring, but he's done better. A lot better. Because at his best, really no one could touch him.

I think the influence of actual philosophers has waned in the past few decades. The hole they left in society is at least in part being filled by great stand ups (not many of them, but George, Patrice O'Neal, Louis CK, and Pryor all come to mind). It's impressive a man like George can be funny while going on about such serious topics with a brilliant sense of clarity, simplicity, and poignancy. I don't always agree with George but he always had a good point. He will be missed.

Scathing and brilliant. Carlin at maybe his most bitter(and best).

Carlin is and always will be one of a kind.

A step down for Carlin (his bits railing against airport security and personal hygiene play as very dated in late 2020!) - this is still intermittently amusing, but far angrier (the casual drop of the c-word is a thunderclap moment!) and less focused than his other live sets; the crowd also appear more intrusive and hostile than usual, which may potentially be colouring their host. Still, enough of the signature standing up against bullshit to be a fun and enjoyable diversion.

Wholly unfunny and downright frustrating. Misanthropic for its own sake,Carlin must've just pulled out '90s topics from a hat and decided to shit on them for whatever reason (as long as they're unrelated to women or non-whites).I guess this kind of blind all-encompassing hatred would be cathartic if there were humour or jokes applied, but it's more ranty than anything.Carlin's "subversive" material back then would now be considered milquetoast and rule-abiding in today's 'eggshells' comedy world

I don't care much for Carlin but I probably need to see more of his earlier stuff

Has some funny moments but it also has a bit too many misses like the tv-show rant.

A little too preachy and not quite as intelligent as some of his better stuff. Still funny though.

Once of Carlin's best ever, I think. Sheer vitriol.

What a witty jester! His memory is also amazing! He fires words like a machine gun, and flowering them with comic body language and facial expression, he always nails down his message with a hearty laughter from the audience. Truly a Houdini in stand-up comedy! MY SCORING: 99-96=Great; 95-90=Very good; 89-85=Good; 84-80=So-so; 79-70=Boring; 69-1=Forget it

If you take out the whistling, cheering and clapping, like 10% of the audience reactions are laughter. That's about how funny I thought this was. The rest I wasn't as impressed as the audience by.
