Glee

Obnoxious, moronic, and self-righteous show about a group of narcissists who get off on how "outcast" and "misunderstood" they are. (Naturally, teenage girls loved it.) Pass and FLUSH.

I actually genuinely enjoyed the sheer kinetic energy and color and, well, gayness of it for about the first half-season or so. Then it got stupider and stupider right up through the end. And yes, I did watch the entire series, because I'm retarded, and possibly secretly gay. However idiotic and even insulting it got at points, and oh god did it, the "Don't Stop Believin'" sequence from the pilot remains gold.

Some mildly funny moments and interesting arrangements of songs. It loses its way pretty quickly though.

The first season was actually pretty funny, but the quality dipped each season and by the 3rd all the goodwill was spent and the show was pumping out uninspired covers and clichéd characters that pandered to vocal fans on social media. Michele did have a fair bit of charm. Lynch was consistently funny. Colfer was utterly annoying throughout.

The first season is fine, and in fact often engrossing, but it loses any sense of genuine vision afterwards. Characters feel inconsistent, plots make no sense, and, as is typical of Murphy shows, it eventually devolves into manufacturing big "moments" instead of crafting genuine, interesting drama. Disappointing, but not in a surprising way, and a show that moves from endearing to grating at nearly record pace.
