It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia

People say that Seinfeld's characters were terrible people. These characters make Seinfeld's look like angels. These are some of the most arrogant, dumb, manipulative, uncaring, selfish sociopaths to every grace the small screen and I just can't get enough. An extremely quotable show with insane rewatchability.

I don't think there is a show that makes me laugh harder on a more consistent basis than this one. God Bless Frank Reynolds.

The Apocalypse Now to Seinfeld's Aguirre, the Wrath of God: a shameless homage created by skilled acolytes who understood what made the original so great and cranked the volume to 11 without ever losing sight of the inspiration's essence.

Absolutely hilarious show, I've watch the entirety over a dozen times.

After 10 years, it's still one of the best things on TV. Hilarious.

Rob McElhenney did some Robert DeNiro weight gain and then loss as a goof. That's dedication to humor.

Even after many, many seasons, the quality of this show remains as high as ever, if not better. Sure, it has some slump episodes, but it's mostly comedy gold. It also plays strongly off of recurring themes and characters. A rare show about really, really dumb people enjoyed by people who are anything but.

At times absolutely brilliant. I really have no idea if Devito is acting in this, or if that's actually how he is in real life, he's that good.

Peaked in season 7 with Fat Mac, the Pretty Woman parody, Jersey Shore episode etc., but it's still fantastic a decade later. Also to the user here who wrote "Friends for chuds", lol Danny DeVito is pretty much a communist.

Extremely funny, but a bit too miserable for me to watch any more. The show didn't change, I did. At some point around season eight or nine I went, "It's so funny but I am so sad".

Seasons 1-13: It's Always Sunny is the most refined form of the sitcom genre. Taking situational comedy to its highest highs, the gang makes a joke out of everything and provides the audience with never-ending laughs and great times. Though later seasons aren't written nearly as well and can keep the series from ever being perfect, there's already so much investment and love in the characters that its hard to care when its at its lows.

Great stuff except for a few episodes. The acting gets even better with the latest seasons. I'm watching this repeatedly , It's not even fun to laugh at but it's about enjoying the drama.

This one really grew on me. I caught a few episodes, which were pretty hit or miss, then I revisited it one day on Netflix. The idiocy really does grow on you, and there are a handful of episodes that are pure comedic genius. Update - the newest season, is actually one of the strongest, and it's definitely the most self exploratory, dissecting the various psychosis.

Take five of the worst human beings you could ever imagine and film their antics and you get It's Always Sunny. With a 9 season run there's bound to be misses, but when the gang has their shit together it is some of the best comedy on television today. It's one of the rare shows that seems to be getting better with age.

Has there ever been a series that has managed to be as consistently great as this has for over a decade? I'm inclined to think not.

Watching this show, I have discovered entirely new modes of laughter.

(S1-13) One of Björk's first bands was called ‘Cork the Bitch's Ass' in Icelandic. It was named after a band mates' father said the band fit together "like a cork in a bitch's ass". Dare I say, this cast fits even better.

I remember watching this show with my friends. I don't get why they like this show. It's just Dialogue, them talking for a whole 30 min of the episodes at the bar. The endings of these shows were terrible. Again another thing I am not into too because friends are.

It's Always Sunny is the next logical step in the postmodern deconstruction of the modern sitcom. It's exploration of straight-faced morally-bankrupt psychopaths who end up in increasingly depraved (and often socially relevant) scenarios yet emerge completely unscathed and unchanged just in time for next week's installment is a brilliant commentary on the writer's rooms of national television development studios. Basically, it's Seinfeld on steroids... and crack.

No disrespect to DeVito, but I always liked the first season the best. Its more subdued style made the humor less predictable. But even with him, the show has great humor and a well-done sense of rhythm and timing. It definitely works best in small doses, though.

My first 3-4 attempts to watch this show, I hated it. Then I started to appreciate it for what it is. As is usual in TV the characters do not change very much. They're bad, vainglorious people. They pay for that.

Fluctuates pretty wildly in quality, but the highs are very good. I've heard the recent seasons have been on the upswing in quality, so maybe I'll jump back in with the Gang someday.

Incredibly funny series. All of the characters hit. My kind of quirky, politically incorrect humor.

I absolutely loved this show when I first discovered it, but I think it gets a little old after a while. Nonetheless, has a lot of good laughs and it's nice that there isn't a single character who bores me.

The first season is kind of rough, but the show shoots to unbelievable highs from the second season on and has remained one of the best comedies on television for so many years. The cast is perfect together. Everyone knows how to play to their strengths and is hilarious independently and even better when playing off of each other. An expert fusion of brilliant writing and top-notch improvisation.

I'm giving it the same score as Seinfeld, which in many ways it feels like the natural successor to (scaling up the misanthropy to account for many more misanthropic shows on the air today than when Seinfeld came out, of course). I would say it's hit or miss, with about half the episodes in many seasons being forgettable, but those hits are HARD hits. Some of these episodes are really, really, really, hysterically, ROARING with laughter funny. Mac Day, holy shit.

This most lovable group of morally bankrupt scumbags you'll ever get to watch. You love them but you also love to hate them and can't wait to see how they get fucked in the end of every episode. Bravo.

Holy crap did Danny DeVito improve this show.

Honestly, probably the funniest show I've ever seen. Every single character is distinct from each other and every single one of them have their moments. The quality may have diminished slightly (with season 11 full of misses), but they remain just as politically incorrect and vulgar in the most clever way possible.

It does not get more politically incorrect than this.

(Seasons 1-9) Spent a middling first season of observational comedy and somewhat aimless buddy hijinks before finding the perfect wild card in DeVito and since has steadily improved with every season more extreme than the last.

For a series that started being about nothing, It's Always Sunny has really gone a lot in fleshing out this lovable group of horrible misfits into a flawed group of trash human beings who somehow are equally endearing. And, yes, the show is shocking and hilarious in almost every single episode.

It's a big plus that the show makes fun of taboo topics, especially in the first season. What I don't like is the constant loudness. I know they're supposed to be obnoxious human beings, but it is too much for me. A lot of the situations and reactions are extremely exaggerated, which at times is funny, at times - annoying. Also I don't like Danny DeVito as a comedian, but that's just me. The later seasons become safer (read duller) and Kaitlin Olson is not utilized at all.

This is one of the all time greats. It rarely misses on the Jokes and often times it felt better as the series aged. Over the top absurdities for days with a crew who sure knows how to deliver. One of the best in my opinion but certainly not for everyone and I can accept that as critcism for this more than most others.
