A remarkable figure with a precise memory. The message here is that one question that still hangs over the Holocaust is to understand the degree to which such an unprecedented event was literally inconceivable at the time it was occurring, even for those presented with the direct evidence that it was going on.

I consider this a continuation of 'Shoah' and so rate the film accordingly. Listening to and watching Karski is totally engrossing; he's a remarkable man. His memory and articulation of these memories is machine like (as he says so himself) but always infused with the emotions associated with these memories. This results in an interview in which the difference between knowing and believing when it comes to incomprehensible horror (the elimination of the Jews) is made painfully clear.

About the difficulty for our spirit to catch its breath when we encounter the immeasurable depth and force of our own shame - and we still are struggling. Very effective use of zoom-ins and zoom-outs.
