This is a great Columbo episode without having much Columbo at all due to the exceptional performance of the female lead. She kept a sense of anxious intensity throughout. The actual case is weak. The gift of a car is hardly motive. If she simply left the gun in the elevator they couldn't have connected it to her. I enjoyed some of the artsy scenes like the one with Columbo appearing on multiple camera screens, but some scenes definitely could have been cut like the live editing room one.
