Hall and Wyle disappear into their characters and really become Bill Gates and Steve Jobs respectively. A great documentary about a hippie and a nerd who became allies, then enemies, then allies again, and in the process manage to change the world. Gates' development into ruthless businessman and Jobs into visionary techno-cult leader really captures the dynamic of the two companies they head, as well as explains the interesting landscape of the industry during the 80s and 90s.

Sort of cool to see the origins of these guys, but the movie really thought it was more interesting than it was.

The story is the one thing that makes this movie great. The acting is all decent, except Anthony Michael Hall who was a perfect depiction of a young Bill Gates. There were a lot of 90s moments, which make this film feel really dated. Breaking the fourth wall was completely unnecessary to be honest. The score, particularly towards the end was really good. If nothing else, the story is enough to warrant a watch.

It's hilarious when they try to make this seem really dramatic.

An interesting theme at least, and very well done.

Noah Wyle is pretty good as Jobs, while Hall is a little too over the top with his Gates impersonation. A nice effort, but it felt a little rushed, maybe some extra 'breathing room' (1 hour ,1 hour and a half) could have helped.

Educational, but not entertaining.

There's a great line in the movie about how this should be taught in History books at school. This isn't the vehicle but it's a compelling point about the significance of this subject material.

A lot of the smaller actors do a really crappy job, but at least the important ones seem to know what they're doing. John Dimaggio really steals the show most of the time.

Unsubtle, over the top, and over the edge. Largely tone deaf, the music cues are too try-hard, the stylistic flourishes don't land, and the acting is subpar. All that being said, there is some fun in seeing a fictionalized account of the personal computer's birth.

Interesting both thematically and theatrically. They did kind of pump of the drama on what would have been a pretty dry chronicle of events, but that was probably wise.

It's an interesting movie to watch from a anecdotic point of view if you are into computers, but the acting is really bad and the story although interesting feels flat.

This film is an interesting look at the early days of Microsoft and Apple. Noah Wyle and Anthony Michael Hall both give good performances in the lead roles. The story looks at what it takes to get to the top.

Engaging & interesting true story with (on the big screen) some odd edits that make more sence when i consider an episodic commercial interupted version.

Even though it takes quite a few liberties with history, it's a pretty nice biopic on an interesting topic. The actors don't fit their roles at all though, they don't look the part and exaggerate their acting way too much.

Full of over-hyped cliches. I don't doubt the events actual happened, but the way it is pictured is really dumb. There are some annoying mistakes regarding the shown technology (e.g. look carefully at the cables of their first PC in the wooden box). The whole movies just jumps from anecdote to anecdote. And what's up with the Titanic music? Overall it is a sloppy and messy film, what a waste of such a great story.

LOVED it! It's a Love it or Hate it kind of movie about the beginning of apple and microsoft (Gates and Jobs, LOVED THE ACTORS!). The characters were very believable & they didnt leave out the 'dirty' tricks they pulled on each other :P. Great 90's movie! Must be seen by all nerds around the world!
