The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks

This is a fascinating story. Skloot was able to turn it into an interesting book, but the film version doesn't work at all. Where to begin. First, Oprah can't act. She definitely isn't convincing as a destitute, illiterate, unhinged woman. It's absurd, like Rosie O'Donnell in Riding the Bus With My Sister. Second, it feels like a bad Lifetime movie, void of any artistic creativity, as if it was filmed in a day or two. Third, the film lacks focus. It's a mess. The only thing present is tone.
