Overlong but generally well-done telling of roguish Carmichael uses a now popular trope of using animation to fill in for missing archival footage well. Carmichael is such an interesting (and multi-faceted) personality that it is a shame her life story is painfully moulded into a story of semi-sainthood to fit a modern social justice warrior context – the tap-dancing around the nature of her corporate crimes does a disservice to a character who no doubt would have appreciated a tougher approach.

An exciting approach to queer/trans storytelling, indulging and joying in the moral complexities of its heroine. The delightful animations are a standout feature, bringing to life a story more colorful and fantastic than the existing visual documents could show.
