Advocate Kurishummoottil Mariamma is known for her rhetoric and volatile temper while in court. Her only son is Vava, a proud and arrogant brat who looks after the family farm when he is not engaged in fisticuffs in the neighbourhood. Appu & Achchu (Mammootty) are the twin sons of Ravunni (Janardanan), a ballet artist. While Appu is noisy & talkative, Achchu is forced to silence as he was born dumb. When he learns that his mother, who had separated from him when he was young, died in Germany, & his younger brother Akash Menon (Dileep), is returning to India to be with him, he dreams of it to be a way out of his debt-ridden life & arranges a big house & other luxuries to treat Akash. However, his dreams are shattered when he finds at the airport that Akash is autistic & doesn't recognize him.

Four angry young men - Aravind (Arun), Vivek (Bharath), Eshwar (Arjun) & Shafeeq (Padma Kumar) - turn vigilantes against the corruption & evils in the society & form a clique called '4 The People' to take out corrupt officials by cutting off their hands or fingers. SP Rajan Mathew (Narein) gets handed over their case & tries to hunt them down. Unnikrishnan assumes the name of Salaam as per advice from Baba & joins Baba's forces. Suleiman (Shammi Thilakan), Baba's nephew, murders Baba & puts the blame on Salaam & he gets sentenced to life. In jail, he joins up with 3 of his old pals from the juvenile home & plans to get back at Suleiman. Soon, Baba's old right-hand men also learns of Salaam's innocence & joins him.

Sugunan (Jayaram), a KSEB overseer, obsessed with electricity & its usage, treats even his family secondary to it. His long suffering wife Bindu (Gopika) struggles to maintain the house & care for him & their daughter Anjana (Niveda), but gets no credit from Sugunan, who thinks Bindu has it easy. Finally, Bindu snaps & goes on a strike by refusing to do any household chores or uxorial duties. An egoistic Sugunan vows to carry on without Bindu, but soon realizes that it's not easy as he thought.

Anwar Ali aka Alibhai (Mohanlal) rules the Calicut Palayam market as their protector & leader. Two enemies from his past team up to destroy him & the market - Sundaran Thampi (Siddique), the son of his father's rival Karunakaran Thampi (Rajan P. Dev), whose right hand Ali had chopped off as a kid & Daniel Abraham, son of Ambubhai (Saikumar), a rowdy, whom Ali had beaten in the market & bedridden when he was a youth.

When business rival Sivan (Saikumar) tries to break apart Leela group using honey trap Veni Warrier (Sindhu Menon), leading to Hari killing Veni's accomplice in a scuffle, Appu takes the blame.

An advertising executive, Senthil (Cheran) takes a bunch of wedding invitation cards and travels through places from his past, looking up old friends and lovers. When a celebrity writer, Palazhi Shivashankara Pillai (Nedumudi Venu), lies on his death bed, a horde of reporters swoop down on his ancestral home, including struggling reporter & Palazhi's protégé Unni Madhavan (Dileep), to get first dibs on the news of his death. However, Palazhi stays ill, but alive, frustrating the reporters whose wait starts extending into days. Meanwhile, on a personal front, Unni's pregnant wife Vimala (Gopika), who seldom got to see him, pines for his love & affection.

After the corporation of the city of Cochin decides to use the neighboring village of Shivaramapuram as a landfill & widespread health issues spring up in the village because of that, journalist & activist Radhika Menon (Gopika), along with Mayamma (Lakshmi Lahari), a teacher & Shivaramapuram resident, mobilizes the villagers against the landfill.

Radhakrishnan (Dileep), although a male, was brought up like a girl by his grandmother who badly wanted a girl child in the family. However, as he matures, he is ridiculed by everyone, gets branded as bad luck & left for dead at sea by Kumaran (Indrajith), who knew of Radhakrishnan's relationship with Malathi (Gopika), the girl whom Kumaran had an eye on. Rescued by Freddie (Biju Menon) & taken to his home beach, Radhakrishnan gets a new lease of life & some serious prodding to act like a man.

Sathyanathan (Jayaram), a teacher who is a serial alcoholic & who avoids his familial duties, gets tired of his wife Priya (Gopika). After he falls into the company of some freewheeling youngsters & gets introduced to Facebook, Sathyanathan gets enamored with them & seeks an affair through Facebook.
