Badges of Fury

While this sounds like it would be a super hardcore action flick, in reality it's a highly mediocre action/comedy more in the vain of Kung Fu Hustle than Police Story but not nearly as good. To me it ranks barely higher than Kung Fu Mahjong. The martial arts by Corey Yuen is uninspired, seems like he's not good at blending in comedy. But the script and directing are really to blame since it's just not funny or thrilling and the timing is off for the whole mess. Jet Li is barely even in it.

This is a strange film. Many of the sound effects are distracting and are silly. The script is all over the place with some moments of slapstick and weirdness. Jet Li tries his best but the material is not a lot of help here.

Lots of humor, some of it works really well, most of it doesn't. Couple good action moments, however the direction is cartoonish and prevents the scenes from actually feeling like fights. Not much action overall, and Jet Li's role is practically an extended cameo.
