Here Alone

Here Alone is a low budget post-apocalyptic zombie film that focuses more on the emotional journey than the creatures. Worth a watch if you're a fan of the sub-genre.

In the current trend of micro-perspectives on the apocalypse, "Here Alone" keeps it as bare-bones as it can; one woman trying to survive alone in the woods, until she - partly out of humanity, partly out of desperate loneliness - can't help but help two other survivors, and things get complicated. Does a lot with a little. Rarely particularly scary, but all the more effective when it plucks at the heartstrings.

Not enough blood and guts for my taste, plain and simple. "Here Alone" is about as safe a zombie movie as you can get. It doesn't really push any envelopes, and in this day, after fifty years of zombie movies, you have to either do something different, do a lot, or do it really well to get anyone to notice.

... and bored as the character. You can see the whole thing, though. Almost no Horror.

A bit too tired for me.
