Low Tide

Makes me wonder who convinced whom that this is a story that needs to be told. Towards the end the characters suddenly acquire the ability to teleport, and they make plentiful use of it! This is always a dead-on sign the writer and director have lost control of their material, which is a little embarrassing seeing how predictable everything is. The ending stands out as memorably sudden, so sudden actually that we watched it twice and kept laughing about it for a while afterwards

The major problem with this film is the mediocre, bordering awful writing. It's disingenuous, predictable, juvenile, and just kind of stupid. Aside from the poor writing, mostly everything needed for a good film is here. Overall, it's not fascinating, but not completely terrible either. Solid cast, but none of them rise to their full potential. It's ok, but not really worth the time.
