Over Your Dead Body

Miike is called a lot of things, but people rarely call attention to his editing: when you least expect it, it's suggestive, dynamic, layered and daring. The narrative may be relatively routine, but the way it plays out is luscious and novel - the deft weaving of fiction and nonfiction leaves no firm foundation to stand on. Plus, it takes a lot to make me squirm in my seat nowadays, but I'll never handle a grill fork the same way again.

Totally not my usual fare, but well made and an interesting way of blending the lines.

The film looked good and the performances ranged from decent to fairly good, but the film just didn't do it for me. I found the pacing to be too slow and the payoff lacking.
