The Lighthouse

Basically the 2019 Lighthouse but more conventional and far less interesting on a story and technical level. Having two characters with little personality and intrigue means most of the time the conversations are boring and lack any punch. A significant event that occurs in this film ironically makes the whole thing even more boring. The madness element is not really done in any exciting way, and any attempted scares/weirdness fail to leave any lasting impression at all. Kind of lame and bad.

Leave it to my good friends the Brits to make a movie about how the "you've got to blame it on something" rain (and maybe some fog) literally drove two men crazy. If you like experiencing the fuzziest of "D" feelings—defeat, depression, dismay, despondency, distress, disappointment, disenchantment, displeasure, disillusionment, discontent, and saDness—then boy do I have a chamber pot filled of twenty-day lighthouse-keep tears for you.
