Traditional political biopic, based on the so-called American values of valuable immigration and fighting against corruption. The usual stuff people admired back then. Mostly fictitious and in caricature, to honor Chicago mayor Anton Cermak, a man who died during a assassination attempt against President Franklin D. Roosevelt. Not a bad attempt, but you never feel you get close to the man they're trying to honor. The focus is more where he came from and the usual cliches.
