Israel in the early 1950s, where Alex, who is 13, is growing up. Candid Camera has been a popular concept from its inception and basically involves filming ordinary non-actors who are the butts of practical jokes, some of them very elaborate. This Israeli variation on the theme has two popular Israeli television comics, the Batlanim (The Lazy Bums), do their best to surprise and discomfort their prey.
